NORTH BEND, Ore. — The North Bend School District is charging former Principal Bill Lucero and his lawyers from the R.I. Law Group nearly $5,000 for public records requests.

On June 18, the attorneys made a public records request for all records concerning the May 21, 2018 settlement with the ACLU of Oregon and two former students, as well as a request for all that mention Bill Lucero and records between the school board related to conversations with third parties like the Oregon Dept. of Education, ACLU or other attorneys for the student complaints, excluding the legal advice or interpretations of the district’s attorney, Rebekah Jacobson.

Coos County District Attorney Paul Fraiser approved the first two and denied the school district from disclosing the last.
